Time to simplify the handball rules and the referees to show some authority!
The so-called best referee in the world looked at that handball and decided it was a penalty. It’s a travesty for Newcastle at Paris that played well and deserved to win against PSG but the point is VAR or no VAR, that's human error!

There is no escape on these decisions and don’t tell me it’s VAR to blame. Penalties will be given again, and again unless they simplify the rule of handball at least. It’s so easy to keep moaning about the technology but in the end a man decides and he got it wrong. Full stop! Though the penalty decision at the end was a harsh one. It eventually balanced out with the earlier decision when Gordon made a foul and it wasn't given. But never a mistake to make amends with another mistake is the solution in any part of life never mind football!
It's a combination of absurd handball rules (and yes dear friends it is different between Premier League and UCL) and VAR officials who are basically making things up as they review incidents. The transparency needs a continuity, and that is the big problem.next week same incident will be decided in a different way. That is what annoy the fans.And eventually the refs never mind if the VAR calls them to go and see the screen can they start showing some authority and stick either their original decision? That would be great and would solve many problems!
